It's not queerbaiting, it's saving the world.
or, it's not Riverdale, it's the millennial soul.
This is a project (not even a project, a vessel?) for my scholarly work around Riverdale, the CW adaption of the Archie Comics Universe which is currently in its final season. I am in my second year of graduate school and writing from the perspective of a peak millennial femme (1989 is more than a way of life), seeking to live a full and happy philosophical life, to contribute to the story of the human race, to fully embrace being a creature of my time, an example of our millennial aesthetics and ways of being.
That’s to say, I am probably one of the happiest people in your life, if not the whole country. It’s hard to even describe myself as an optimist, but I’m out of words to explain it any other way.
So, Ronnie K Gets an MFA is about Riverdale, graduate school, the writing life, the South, and ways I’ve found to come to grips with who the kids writing in cursive watching 9/11 became and how we can use the tools we have made to escape the fear of death.
Welcome to Riverdale.
